Dr. Saad is a distinguished member of the Oil and Gas community. He is well published and holds patents in Fluid Catalytic Cracking technology. He founded Gulf Interstate Corporation in 1988 providing technical and commercial consultancy and supply and trading services for crude oil and finished oil products globally, specializing in the Middle East markets.

In his role as Managing Director Fujairah Saudi Refinery Company, Dr. Saad represented the Saudi Group of investors in all phases of negotiation, development, financing, treasury and construction of a 100,00 bpd refinery in the Emirate of Fujairah, UAE. As CEO of Gulf Interstate Dr. Saad built a trading and supply business in petroleum products and crude with a global reach from Europe to Asia with particular focus on Mediterranean, Africa and Middle East.

Chris has significant experience in Business Development where he established numerous joint ventures and originated entrance into new markets in the Middle East and Africa. He extensive front-line operations experience in aviation supply chain. Most recently Chris was responsible for establishing a Global Joint Venture with BP’s Chinese partners.
Chris retired from BP in 2018 and is retained as a Senior Advisor for BP Ventures.
Chris is an Arabist, is fluent in English and German and a knowledge of French. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Eng Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, London, England.
James has 31 years of experience in the Oil and Gasoil Industry with a particular expertise in trading, exposure management, blending, refinery optimization and supply chain optimization.

James has extensive trading and origination experience in US, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. As COO, James lead trading and operations of the largest private aggregator of oil products in Iraq. In 2019, the group traded 600,000 mt per month of atmospheric residual fuel oil, 100,000 mt per month naphtha and 50,000 bpd of crude. Presently, James is acting as consultant for Ikon to acquire a share of an oil storage terminal in Iraq and is working a refinery upgrading project for Sonangol Iraq. In his roles at BP, James originated all phases of project development of a storage terminal, EMOIL, and product joint venture with Emarat. This venture supplied over fifty percent of the UAE’s domestic requirement for gasoline. At ExxonMobil, James was lead negotiator for the product offtake agreement from Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery (SAMREF), a 450 kbd refinery located in Yanbu, KSA. He originated and traded a multi-year 30 million barrel per year product swap with Saudi Aramco and was instrumental in transforming the Fujairah bunker market with the introduction of high viscosity fuel oil from SAMREF.
James holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics, Chemistry and Computer Science from Villanova University. He also has an MBA from Drexel University and Investment Management certification from London Business School.
